March was a month of change in 2020, bringing safer-at-home orders, mandated closures of local businesses, and a sense of panic that swept our nation. We at AFV were challenged with continuing to provide our essential services of caring for the lost, homeless, and abandoned animals in our valleys and provided care for 609 pets throughout the month.
Thanks to the incredible support of our donors, adopters, volunteers, fosters, and hard-working staff, we saw 94 cats and 172 dogs adopted to new homes of their own, 125 dogs and 12 cats returned to the homes from which they had been lost, and 56 pets taken in by our rescue partners.
We are so blessed to have a community that cares so deeply for the pets in need in our valleys–we truly could not do the work that we do without support of Animal Friends like you.
February was a strong month at AFV with 126 cats and 174 dogs adopted from the shelter, 29 cats (wow!) and 148 dogs returned to their owners, and 46 pets sent to rescue organizations throughout the month!
We are proud to have continued our 0% “placeable euthanized” rate throughout the month of February, but we will need your help to continue that trend throughout the upcoming months facing the new challenges of COVID-19.
If you are able, please help us in our mission to find forever homes for all of the lost, homeless, and abandoned animals at Animal Friends of the Valleys.
